“As parents feel for their children,
God feels for those who fear him.
He knows us inside and out,
keeps in mind that we’re made of mud.
Men and women don’t live very long;
like wildflowers they spring up and blossom,
But a storm snuffs them out just as quickly,
leaving nothing to show they were here.
God’s love, though, is ever and always,
eternally present to all who fear him,
Making everything right for them and their children
as they follow his Covenant ways
and remember to do whatever he said.”
Being a stepmom is hard, I’ve said that before… I feel that sometimes we put too much pressure in ourselves to be the “perfect” wife or stepmom. I know I do…. and that mindset only drives me to become extremely scared of losing control which leads me to have unnecessary stress in my life. Accepting that we are human and imperfect is the first step towards a healthy journey. Is difficult I know… I like to do everything right all the time, but there is something liberating that comes from accepting our true imperfect essence and cutting ourselves some slack. This Bible verse resonates with me because it reminds me that God knows me more than I know myself, and loves me anyway.
God knows that you are fragile, He knows you make mistakes and that most of the time you don’t know what you are doing. He feels it. Remember that when you feel alone and like no one understand you. He has everything under control.
